I mean, it sure was interesting.
I mean, it sure was interesting.
Level design is boring as shit, movement has nothing to it that would make it stand out compared to any other platformer in existence, but it was at least bearable.
Thanks for the feedback
My main hobby is rhythm games, so I didnt expect a lot out of a Newgrounds rhythm game. This surpassed my expectations! It has awesome visual style, cool characters, and fun gameplay! A lot of rhythm games tend to be too easy but this is actually pretty challenging too! Good shit :)
Damn this really holds up for a lot of it. The hitboxes on shit like sawblades and fire is awful though, and it causes a lot of issues. The chapter one music is weirdly compressed, but immediately picks up with the classic Salt Factory music. Still fun to this day! A little dated though.
The gameplay here really is nothing. But the art, aesthetic, everything else is great!
The flow of this game was actually pretty fun, but it's really hard. The problem with it being hard is I don't feel like putting another 30-45 minutes in to try and not get the bad ending.
For the time, the chainsaw animation splitting things is kinda satisfying and cool. Having to press the direction again after using your space action is annoying for moving. This is obviously extremely dated but kinda cool for its time.
No levels, and you can move in the air after a jump but cant turn around. Kind of conflicting mechanics there. I'd make it to where you cant turn around in the air after a jump to restrict movement, but give more freedom with the attacks by making Isaac related ones like tears, keep the whip as a special move.
This was wonderful! The movement was a lot of fun, pixel art was cute, the level design is great and you did fun things with the momentum. I just wish it got a little harder and did more complicated things with the movement, but this is still amazing!
